Effective 28 August 2026 App: Baby Mode: Screen Lock Bundle: app.babymode.screenlock
The short version
We collect nothing.

No account. No ads. No analytics. No tracking. No network. Baby Mode does not send anything anywhere, because Baby Mode does not talk to the internet at all. Your settings and your play counts sit on the phone and are deleted with the app.

There is nothing to collect and nowhere to send it.

This policy explains that in the detail the law expects. It applies to the iOS application Baby Mode: Screen Lock (“Baby Mode”, “the app”) published by Grant Trudeau (“we”, “us”), and to the website these pages are served from.

We are a small developer, not a data business. Email reaches a person.

02 What we collect

Nothing. Baby Mode contains no networking code. There is no server of ours for data to reach, no account system, no sign-in, no email capture, no contact form inside the app, and no third-party software development kit of any kind — no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no attribution, no A/B testing.

Apple defines “collect” as transmitting data off the device in a way that lets the developer or its partners access it. Baby Mode transmits nothing off the device. Under that definition, and under every definition we are aware of, we collect no personal information from anybody.

03 What the app keeps on your phone

Baby Mode stores a small amount of information in its own sandboxed storage on the device, so that it can remember how you set it up. This information never leaves the phone. We cannot see it. Nobody but the person holding the phone can see it.

Stored on deviceWhy
Age band (Under 1, 1–2, 2–4)Sets pace, size and volume of the playgrounds.
Session length (5, 15 or 30 minutes)Ends the session without you having to.
Sound on or offYour preference, underneath the phone’s own mute switch.
How many times each playground was openedDraws the stats screen so you can see which toy gets reached for.
Whether onboarding has been completedSo you are not shown it twice.

How to delete all of it: delete the app. Everything above is removed with it. There is no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing left for us to delete on your behalf and no deletion request for you to file.

04 Network activity

Baby Mode makes no network requests. Every playground, every setting and the stats screen work identically with the phone in Aeroplane Mode, and we encourage you to check.

The only exception is Apple’s own StoreKit, the system framework that handles the subscription. When you start a free trial, subscribe, or tap Restore Purchases, iOS contacts Apple — not us — to complete or verify that transaction. That traffic is between you and Apple.

05 The subscription, and Apple’s role

Baby Mode is free to download and includes a seven-day free trial, after which it requires an auto-renewing subscription. All payment is processed by Apple through the App Store.

Your Apple Account, your card details and your billing address are entered into a system screen drawn by iOS, outside our app. Our code cannot read that screen and never receives your payment details, your name, your email address or your billing address.

The app asks iOS a single question on device — is this person subscribed — and shows or hides the paywall accordingly. We do not run a server, we do not validate receipts on a server, and we do not keep a subscriber list. Apple is the merchant of record; that transaction is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

Apple also gives us aggregate, anonymised sales and download reports — how many units, in which countries, on which days. Those reports are produced by Apple, contain no personal information, and cannot be traced to an individual.

06 Children’s privacy — COPPA

Children under 13

Baby Mode collects no personal information from anyone, and that includes children. Not their name, not their age, not their voice, not their picture, not their location, and no identifier that could be used to recognise them later or across other apps.

Baby Mode is designed to be handed to a baby or toddler by an adult. We have therefore built it on the assumption that a child under 13 will use it, and we have designed it so that the question of collecting a child’s data never arises.

Under the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA, 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506) and the FTC’s COPPA Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 312):

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, contact us at granttrudeau@gmail.com. We will investigate and delete anything found. We expect this email never to be necessary.

Baby Mode is not listed in the App Store’s Kids Category. That is a distribution choice, not a privacy one. The protections described in this section apply regardless of which App Store category the app appears in.

07 California — CCPA and CPRA

This section applies to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.

What we have collected in the preceding twelve months

None. We have collected no personal information in any of the statutory categories — identifiers, customer records, protected classifications, commercial information, internet or network activity, geolocation, sensory data, professional or employment information, education information, or inferences drawn from any of the above. We have collected no sensitive personal information as the CPRA defines it.

Selling and sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we never have. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not sold or shared the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16, because we have not sold or shared anyone’s. No financial incentive is offered in exchange for personal information.

Your rights

To exercise any right, email granttrudeau@gmail.com from any address, or write to us at the postal address in section 01. We will respond within 45 days, extendable once by a further 45 days where permitted. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission and proof of identity.

We will verify a request by asking you to confirm the details in it. In practice our answer will be that we hold no personal information about you, and we will say so in writing.

Because we do not sell or share personal information, we do not publish a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link. We honour Global Privacy Control signals in the sense that there is nothing for them to switch off.

08 Europe and the United Kingdom — GDPR

This section applies if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the UK GDPR together with the Data Protection Act 2018.

Controller and processing

Grant Trudeau would be the controller for any personal data processed through Baby Mode. No personal data is processed. The app performs no collection, no transmission, no storage off the device, no profiling and no automated decision-making within the meaning of Article 22.

Lawful basis

No lawful basis under Article 6 is engaged, because no processing occurs. Where you subscribe, Apple processes your data as an independent controller under its own lawful bases and its own privacy policy.

International transfers

We make no international transfers of personal data. Nothing leaves your device, so nothing crosses a border. No standard contractual clauses are needed and none are in place.

Retention

We retain no personal data. Settings and play counts live on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, and are erased when you delete it.

Your rights

Exercise any of these by emailing granttrudeau@gmail.com. We will reply within one month. Our reply will confirm that we hold no personal data relating to you.

Children in the EEA and UK

Article 8 sets a minimum age for consent to information society services, between 13 and 16 depending on the member state. Baby Mode never relies on a child’s consent, because it never processes a child’s data. See section 06.

Data protection officer and representative

We have not appointed a data protection officer, and are not required to under Article 37, because we carry out no large-scale monitoring and process no special-category data. We have not appointed an Article 27 representative, as we do not process personal data of individuals in the EU or UK.

09 Tracking, advertising and Do Not Track

Baby Mode does not track you across apps or websites, does not build a profile, and does not link anything to your identity. It never shows Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it has no reason to ask.

Its App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected.

Because we do no tracking, Do Not Track browser signals and Global Privacy Control signals have nothing to disable. We honour them by default and by construction.

10 The website

This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no tracking pixels, no social widgets and no third-party scripts. The only external request any page makes is to Google Fonts, to load the two typefaces this page is set in; that request tells Google your IP address and browser, as any request for a file does. If that matters to you, block fonts.googleapis.com and the pages will fall back to Helvetica and render perfectly well.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention. We do not use those logs to identify anyone and do not combine them with anything else.

11 Security

The strongest security property of Baby Mode is that there is nothing to secure. There is no database of ours, no cloud account, no API key, no backup and no export. Data that never leaves a device cannot be breached at rest on a server, intercepted in transit, or leaked by a vendor.

What is on the phone is protected by iOS: app sandboxing, file protection tied to your passcode, and Face ID or Touch ID if you use them. Keeping your phone updated and passcode-locked is the whole of the security advice we have.

12 Changes to this policy

If the app ever starts collecting anything, this page changes first and the change is material. We will update the effective date at the top, describe what changed in plain words, and where the law requires consent we will ask for it inside the app before any collection begins — not by quietly editing a web page.

Superseded versions are kept and can be requested by email.
